The exceptionally talented Jazz artist Andre Ward has released him CD entitled Steppin Up. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Andre Ward fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of Steppin Up Andre Ward’s artistic excellence is on full display as Ward has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be him best work to date.
This CD grabs your attention right out of the gate with Keep Running and won’t let go until the very last note of the very last song Every Time I Open My Eyes, which by the way is another great track.
One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Andre Ward’s most impressive releases ever.
If you're even mildly into Jazz music you'll enjoy this album. Overall Steppin Up is an a great release. I give it my double thumbs up. You will not be disappointed with one single track.
While this entire album is outstanding the truly standout tunes are track 2 - Warm Passion, track 6 - If You Leave Me Now, and track 12 - Every Time I Open My Eyes.
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 9 - Holding Back The Years. What a nice track!
